Reddit is a hugely popular social news and entertainment portal based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2005 by two young University of Virginia graduates Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, it was acquired in October 2006 by Condé Nast, a division of Advance Publications Inc.

As of 2012 Reddit has more than 43 million registered users.
