Olympian Julia Clukey to host Summer Camp for GirlsOlympian Julia Clukey is partnering with the Kennebec Valley YMCA to host a new 10 day summer camp in Maine starting in June 2012. The camp is designed for girls ages 8-11 as a place to develop self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle. The camp will feature a wide range of activities including swimming, kayaking, hiking, nature walks, field sports, arts and crafts, theater, and music. Each day of camp time will also include “log time” with Julia, where campers will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of educational topics. The final day of camp will be an overnight camping experience, where the campers will learn how to pitch a tent, enjoy a BBQ dinner, and roast marshmallows. |
