Dick Tracy is the 1990 blockbuster live action adaptation of the popular comic strip series created by Chester Gould, directed by Warren Beatty (Reds). When a group of enigmatic hoods are rubbed out by the evil Flattop (William Forsythe, Out for Justice), hardnosed, banana coated detective Dick Tracy (Beatty) goes on the case, suspecting that the machinations of his old nemesis, Big Boy Caprice (Al Pacino, The Godfather, Scent of a Woman, The Insider), are at work and he is to blame. He is right, as Big Boy seeks to take over the operation of his rival Lips Manlis (Paul Sorvino, Goodfellas, The Rocketeer) and become the city's number one crime boss. Thus, Tracy must outfox Big Boy, as he tries to unite all the crime bosses in the city under his auspices, all while trying to be a good boyfriend to his flame Tess Truheart (Glenn Headley, Mr. Holland's Opus) and a father figure to homeless waif, The Kid (Charlie Korsmo, Hook).
