York Alumni Association Event

Pre-Election Any Questions

Wednesday 10 March 2010, 6.30pm - 8.30pm

The Grand Committee Room, The House of Commons, Westminster
And afterwards at St Stephen’s Tavern

In this election year we’re very grateful to Jonathan Isaby and the York Alumni Association London Group for organising this special event featuring a presitigious panel of York alumni from across the main political parties

Your panel comprises of:

  • Jonathan Isaby (Language and Linguistics, Wentworth, 1999). Our MC for the evening, having been a political journalist for five years with The Telegraph, he is now Co-editor of Conservative Home
  • Paul Holmes MP (History, Alcuin 1978). Liberal Democrat, MP for Chesterfield since 2001
  • Meg Munn MP (Language, Vanbrugh, 1981) Labour MP for Sheffield Healey since 2001
  • Paul Goodman MP (English, Langwith, 1981) Conservative MP for Wycombe since 2001, currently shadow minister for Communities and Local Government, standing down at the next election.
  • Steve Richards (History, Alcuin, 1981) The Independent’s chief political commentator in 2000 having been political editor of the New Statesman. He presents GMTV's flagship current affairs show The Sunday Programme and Radio 4’s Week in Westminster.

As our time at the House of Commons is strictly limited we have organised to adjourn to St Stephens Tavern 10 Bridge Street, Westminster, SW1A 2JR where we have booked a room

Over a drink and nibbles, you have time to mingle with other Yorkies and London alumni group members as well as meeting the University’s PVC for Alumni, Jane Grenville and journalists from York’s award winning student media.

We trust this will be an intellectually stimulating discussion and invite you to submit your questions beforehand which you can do during the booking process or by email.

RSVP by March 1 2010.
