Synopsis
Pokémon Box is a data management tool for owners of Pokémon: Ruby Version and/or Pokémon: Sapphire Version on Game Boy Advance. Once players have caught a team of Pokémon on their color handheld, they can transfer the monsters to GameCube and save them to the console's memory card. Because of the increased storage capacity offered by a GameCube memory card, players can save up to 1,500 Pokémon in all. Now players can level up multiple versions of each type and then trade their creations to friends or family. Pokémon are viewed using an icon or list display, with statistics such as ribbons collected, special abilities, and their current nature available at a glance. In addition, Pokémon Box allows users to play both handheld Pokémon games on the television screen at the expense of multiplayer functionality.
Editor's Note: At the time of release, Nintendo billed Pokémon Box: Ruby & Sapphire as "the most exclusive Pokémon software ever offered to North American Pokémon fans." The GameCube program can be purchased online at pokemoncenter.com, by telephoning (1-877-476-5366), or by visiting the "PokémonCenter" store in New York City.
