Patch 1.2.0 is very, very significant because not only does it add a lot of features, but it adds in free DLC, which was mostly premium content on the Xbox 360. So if, for some reason, you haven't played the PC version in a while, give it a go. Kaos still loves you!
We are performing maintenance on our login servers and they will be down briefly. During this time you may not be able to join online games or may lose connection with online games you are playing. This only affects PC players.
This update doesn't have the standard "this is unrelated to the upcoming patch" warning, so it is safe to assume that this maintenance is related to the upcoming patch.
Signups are open until October 30th, and you can win $10,000 in cash, three HP Blackbird 002 computers, and six NVIDIA 8800 GTX Video Cards by competing. If you are thinking about signing up, there are currently only 34 teams registered, so your odds of winning are pretty decent. Especially when you consider the majority of those teams signed up back in January and have probably completely forgotten about the tournament. To register, you'll need a team of six or more people.
Nothing relating to Frontlines: Fuel of War or the Unreal Engine 3 in this package, but having the latest drivers is always a good idea, as it helps solve bugs and boosts performance across multiple titles.
DLC weapons/vehicles profiled[ Comment ] 13:40 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Official AnnouncementsIf you haven't picked up the Xbox 360 DLC3 pack yet (or perhaps if you're on the PC, where it has yet to arrive), you may be interested in this profile over at the Kaos Status Blog, which takes a look at some of the new DLC content:
To compete with the Western Coalitions AB-11, the Red Star have developed their own bomber, the MRB-131. This bomber is designed with one purpose: unleash as much firepower into the enemy as possible. Small and maneuverable, the MRB-131 carries a front-mounted cannon for air-to-air and air-to-ground combat.
There are profiles for two new vehicles and the new weapon, so be sure to check it out.
We are aware that some players are having lag issues on certain dedicated servers. We are monitoring the situation and making adjustments where needed. Please continue to post about any issues you notice. Thanks
So if you're experiencing an unusual amount of lag, just hold on for a bit longer as Kaos fixes the issue.
Frontlines DLC 3 (Xbox 360) now available![ 6 Comments ] 10:22 PST | Pyros | Print News | Category: Official AnnouncementsKaos sends word that the new Xbox 360 DLC is now available on the Xbox Live marketplace. What do you get for your 800 MS Points? Think 4 new maps, new vehicles, and a new weapon. Combined with the free DLC (if you haven't downloaded Boneyard or Conquer mode yet, be sure to do so!), you'll have plenty to play. Here is the announcement:
Our latest downloadable content has been approved by Microsoft and is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace!
The map pack includes the following features and is available for 800 Microsoft Points:
o New Map Hindsight
o New Map Sunder
o New Map Wide-Awake

Nothing Frontlines or Unreal Engine 3 related, but it is always a good idea to keep your drivers up to date to solve performance issues and annoying bugs.
We will be performing maintenance on our login servers on Thursday, September 18th, 2008 between 9:00 AM (EDT) and 11:00 AM (EDT). During this time you may not be able to join online games or may lose connection with online games you are playing. This only affects PC players and is unrelated to the upcoming patch.
Like the update says, this is just some standard server work and has nothing to do with 1.2.0.
We've posted a couple polls to get your feedback on round length and number of tickets as we prep for the server changes we've mentioned previously.
If you have a few minutes, please register on our forums (if you have not done so previously) and vote on these polls as we'd really like to know your preferences when these changes are put in place.
Microsoft has approved DLC2 and Conquer mode is now live and available on all Frontlines maps. This is the first new game mode for Frontlines: Fuel of War and we are providing this to you completely free!
To access Conquer mode, you must download it onto your Xbox 360: go to the Xbox Dashboard and Conquer mode for Frontlines will be available through the Marketplace.
We will be converting some dedicated servers over to Conquer mode, so login to Xbox Live and grab the update to join in the fun.
Visit the link below for more information on Conquer:
* Systemlink player count fixed
* Landmines no longer stick to players
* Landmines can no longer be set off by infantry
* Game no longer locks up when performing a sign-in change in multiplayer matches
* Air Support time fixed in ranked leaderboards
* Auto-balance will now pick from non-squad members first
* EMP Techs gain stealth vs. sentry turrets and will no longer be targeted
* Corrections to leaderboard statistics

* Updates to allow for new weapons
While DLC2 and DLC3 are still in testing and should arrive shortly, Kaos has wiped the leaderboards to prepare for the new maps and modes.
While there is nothing Frontlines related in this update, these driver suite does contain many fixes and tweaks for various games as well as enabling PhysX support on GeForce 8x00 and 9x00 series hardware, so it is certainly worth your download.
