Nick Cannon's Family Confirms He's Wed Mariah Carey

Nick Cannon's family has confirmed that the 27-year-old actor has wed singer Mariah Carey, 39.
Family member Linda Cannon told E! that Nick called her with the good news.
"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it," she said. "We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him."
She added, "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."
Latina magazine first broke the news Thursday.
The New York Post also reported that they secretly got hitched at Carey's new home in Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
The Post quoted a source as saying, "There was no prenup - there wasn't time."
Another Carey pal told the Post, "Everyone is happy to see her happy. And it could work out - some people know each other for five years and get divorced. Maybe this is true, instant love."
Carey recently has been sporting a 17-carat diamond ring that looks similar to the one Cannon gave his ex Selita Ebanks, but Ebanks' rep said yesterday it is not the same ring.
Ebanks, told Usmagazine.com, "I have no comment but wish them well."

Wow. Mariah you are DUMB for not getting a pre-nup. I'm not saying Nick Cannon is a bad person, but how about down the line or something? He can turn out to be a total d!ck. I know they've known each other for several years now, but they've only been dating since March, why couldn't Mariah just give it time? I hope they are both happy if this is true! I wish them the best. We may have a perception of who he/she should be with, but they have to make that choice. And I have to say that they are only being criticized because they are in the spotlight. How many other people (not celebrities) make similar choices and things do/don't work out. Only time will tell, but again I wish them the best.

I haven't seen such stupidity from people in my life. This woman got divorced in '98, and has been in several long term relationships since that time (Miguel and recently Mark Sudack). Do you honestly think she would jump the broom that quickly after knowing this man for only a month? Especially given how her last marriage ended. And then not sign a pre-nup on top of that? Mariah is a very smart business woman, I highly doubt she would risk what she has worked hard for (reportedly worth like 250+ million). Man, some people need to start picking up REAL books to read and stop getting all their reading from gossip sites. You have to be a complete MORON to think this is real. Anybody can call and say they got married. What the hell does that prove?
