60 Year Celebrations A Success For Turkish Cypriots | |
The Annual North Cyprus Turkish Festival in Melbourne, Australia has been labelled a major success by all the media and participants. The Festival attracted close to 8000 people and featured guests including the TRNC Foreign Minster Mr Turgay Avci, the Melbourne Lord Mayor Mr John So, the Melbourne Turkish Consul General Mr Aykut Sezgin, Acting Brimbank Mayor Natalie Suleyman, local Ministers, and distinguished members of the Turksh community. The day was filled with traditional Turkish cultural activities/performances including folk dancing, on-stage entertainment, traditional foods, coffee cup reading, photo galleries, childrens activities and more. The day was concluded with a 9 minute fireworks display. The ATCA crew was also present at the festival having organised video footage of the events and conducting interviews with guests.
