Tom Sturges has been named president of Chrysalis Music Group USA, responsible for all of the company’s domestic publishing operations.
Formerly senior VP/general manager of the pubbery, Sturges has run the company for the last seven years, a period that has seen Chrysalis publishing achieve five No. 1 singles and 22 gold and/or platinum albums.
Eight albums achieved multiplatinum status.
Sturges has signed such artists as Slaughter, Billy Burnette of Fleetwood Mac , Jeffrey Gaines and Smashing Pumpkins, as well as songwriters Antonina Armato (“She Ain’t Worth It,””I’ll Get By”), Andy Hill (“Restless Heart,””Peace in Our Time”) and Charles Farrar & Troy Taylor (who have written for Color Me Badd and Boyz II Men).
Sturges also engineered the purchase of the Ring-A-Ding Music catalogue, which features the songs of rockabilly artist Dorsey Burnette (“It’s Late, “”Believe What You Say”).

The Chrysalis roster includes such artists as Ian Anderson, Billy Idol, Debbie Harry and Paul Anka.
Before joining Chrysalis, Sturges worked at Screen Gems Music (now EMI Music) and Arista Music (now BMG Music), where he helped placed such hits as “Heart and Soul” by Huey Lewis, “Another Night” by Aretha Franklin and “We Belong” by Pat Benatar.
