Abstract

In the current TCP, the packet losses over the wireless link are considered as the indication of the congestion and the TCP congestion control is invoked, which may severely degrade the performance of TCP. We propose a new method to effectively overcome this type of TCP performance degradation using nonce. The proposed scheme running at the base station (BS) can identify the lost segments which can be quickly retransmitted. It is shown that the proposed scheme is robust to the consecutive packet losses. It has another advantage that the nonce in the proposed scheme can be used to implement the strategy to block the attacks by the misbehaving receiver.
