Abstract
According to getting expand the importance of the security in mobile telecommunication environment. The security is under the research progress in mobileip working group. From now on, if the Mobile IPv4 technology will be applicable in the various fields and it is expanded, then the security must be core in trust side. In the meantime, the IPsec(Internet Protocol Security) was decided as the method for providing security in Mobile IPv4. And the related study has been progressed. But IPsec has drawbacks that the mobile devices such as cellular phone and PDA are weak in the performance of hardware. so the security processing is a big burden in the mobile devices and security level is not satisfied with mobile users. For working these problems, the integrated models with AAA infrastructure are being proposed. The purpose of AAA technology is to authenticate a mobile node in the foreign network. In this paper, our research has a focus on minimizing the authentication latency in AAA processing. Especially, we propose the model with Low-latency handoff scheme to reduce AAA authentication delay. And we carried out performance evaluation to prove it.
This research was supported by the MIC(Ministry of Information and Communication), Korea, under the ITRC(Information Technology Research Center) support program supervised by the IITA(Institute of Information Technology Assessment).
