Change the language or region on Apple TV
The first time you set up Apple TV, you choose which display language and region format to use. You can change this later in Settings.
Add and edit preferred languages
You can add multiple languages so that you can switch between languages when a keyboard appears onscreen. Keyboards appear in your preferred language order.
Go to Settings on Apple TV.
Go to General > Apple TV Languages, then do any of the following:
Add a preferred language: Select Add Language, then choose a language from the list. Select Keep [current language] to add the language to your preferred languages list without changing the primary language, or select Use [new language] to make it your primary language.
Change the preferred language order: Select Edit, then select next to a language in the list and swipe up or down on the clickpad or touch surface on your remote to move the language to a new position. Press the clickpad center or touch surface to confirm the new position, then select Done.
Remove a language: Select Edit, then select next to the language you want to remove, then select Done.
When you use the onscreen keyboard, select to switch to the next language in your list of languages.
Change your primary language
Your primary language determines the language used throughout Apple TV and all apps that support the language.
Go to Settings on Apple TV.
Go to General > Apple TV Languages, then do either of the following:
Set one of your preferred languages as the primary language: Select Edit, select next to a language in the list, swipe up on the clickpad or touch surface on your remote to move the language to the top of the list, then select Done.
Add a new language and set it as the primary language: Select Add Language, choose a language from the list, then select Use [new language].
Note: Siri and dictation may or may not be available, depending on the language you select. See the Apple Support article Use Siri on your Apple TV.
