Delete a recording on Mac
You can delete recordings you no longer need.
Important: When you permanently delete a recording, it’s removed from all of your Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
Delete a recording
Go to the Voice Memos app on your Mac.
Select the recording you want to delete, then click or press Delete.
If you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, you can swipe left with two fingers on the recording, then click .
Unless you set options to clear deleted recordings immediately, they’re available for the specified amount of time in the Recently Deleted folder, located in the folder sidebar. See Change settings.
Recover a recording from Recently Deleted
Go to the Voice Memos app on your Mac.
Click to open the folder sidebar.
Select Recently Deleted, then select the recording you want to recover.
Click the Recover button in the upper-right corner, then click Recover Recording.
To restore all deleted recordings, click Recover All at the bottom of the library.
Permanently erase a recording from Recently Deleted
Go to the Voice Memos app on your Mac.
Click to open the folder sidebar.
Select Recently Deleted, then select the recording you want to permanently erase.
Click Delete in the upper-right corner, then click Delete Forever.
If you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, swipe left with two fingers on the recording, then click Delete.
To erase all deleted recordings, click Delete All at the bottom of the library.
