Control access to your Wi-Fi network in AirPort Utility on Mac
When you use AirPort Utility Setup Assistant to set up your new base station or extend an existing network, it automatically configures the best settings for your network. That said, you can set the time and the days when a computer can access your Wi-Fi network, as well as when a user can access the network to use the Internet, share files, or play games.
Open the AirPort Utility app
on your Mac, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. In the graphical overview, select the base station you want to configure, then click Edit. You may need to enter a password for the base station.
Click Network, select Enable Access Control, then click the Timed Access Control button.
In the dialog that appears, modify the default behavior for any user joining the network by doing the following:
Select the Unlimited (default) item in the Wireless Clients list. (If you want, you can change the name.)
Use the pop-up menus in the Wireless Access Times area to choose a day or set of days and a time duration.
You can add additional times by clicking the Add button
below the Wireless Access Times area.
If you want to provide unique access times for a specific wireless client, do the following:
Click the Add button
under the Wireless Clients list, then press the Tab key.Enter a description and MAC address in the fields under the list.
Use the pop-up menus in the Wireless Access Times area to select a day or set of days and a time duration.
Add additional times by clicking the Add button
below the Wireless Access Times list.
When you’re done, click Save to save your changes and close the dialog. Then click Update to save the changes.
