Use favorite mailboxes in Mail on Mac
You can make a mailbox a favorite, so it’s easy to access in Favorites in the Mail sidebar or in the Favorites bar.
Tip: To show or hide the Mail sidebar, choose View > Show Mailbox List or View > Hide Mailbox List, or press Shift-Command-M. For the Favorites bar, choose View > Show Favorites Bar or View > Hide Favorites Bar, or press Option-Shift-Command-H.
Add a mailbox to Favorites
In the Mail app on your Mac, do any of the following:
In the Mail sidebar: Drag a mailbox from another section of the sidebar into Favorites. You can also click the Add button at the top of Favorites, select a mailbox from the pop-up menu (dimmed mailboxes are already in Favorites), then click OK.
In the Favorites bar: Drag a mailbox from the Mail sidebar into the Favorites bar.
The Mail sidebar and the Favorites bar show the same favorite mailboxes.
Use a favorite mailbox
In the Mail app on your Mac, do any of the following:
Go to a favorite mailbox: Click a favorite mailbox in the Mail sidebar or the Favorites bar, or choose Mailbox > Go to Favorite Mailbox, then choose a mailbox.
Move messages into a favorite mailbox: Select one or more messages in the message list, then drag them into a favorite mailbox in the Mail sidebar or the Favorites bar.
Move messages out of a favorite mailbox: Select one or more messages in the favorite mailbox, then drag them into a different mailbox, or choose Message > Move to, then choose a mailbox.
Remove a mailbox from Favorites
In the Mail app on your Mac, do any of the following:
In the Mail sidebar: In Favorites, Control-click a mailbox, then choose Remove from Favorites.
In the Favorites bar: Drag the mailbox out of the Favorites bar; visual and sound effects indicate it’s been removed.
