Manage iPod shuffle in iTunes on PC
Set iPod shuffle to play all songs at the same volume
Go to the iTunes app on your PC.
Choose Edit > Preferences, click Playback, then make sure Sound Check is selected.
Connect your device to your computer.
Click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.
Click Summary (iPod shuffle 3rd generation or later only).
Select Enable Sound Check.
After you sync your iPod shuffle, you can turn off Sound Check in iTunes by deselecting Enable Sound Check.
Set the maximum volume for your iPod shuffle
Set your iPod shuffle to the desired maximum volume.
Connect your device to your computer.
Go to the iTunes app on your PC.
Click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.
Click Summary (iPod shuffle 3rd generation or later only).
Select “Limit maximum volume”.
If you can’t see this option, you need to update the software on your iPod shuffle. Click Summary in the sidebar (if necessary), then click Update.
Drag the slider to the desired maximum volume.
The initial slider setting matches the volume the iPod shuffle was set to when you selected the “Limit maximum volume” tick box.
To require a password to change this setting, click the lock, then enter a password.
Manage space on iPod shuffle
You can maximise the number of songs that fit on your iPod shuffle.
Connect your device to your computer.
Go to the iTunes app on your PC.
Click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.
Click Summary (iPod shuffle 3rd generation or later only).
Do either of the following:
Maximise the number of songs that fit on the device: Select “Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC”.
Make more space available on the device: Drag the songs you don’t want to the Recycle Bin, then empty the Recycle Bin.
