Download previous iTunes Store purchases in Apple Music on Windows
If you previously purchased items from the iTunes Store, you can download them to your authorized computers and devices (up to 10 total). Downloading previous purchases is a great way to add items to your devices without having to sync or copy files, and you can use this method to replace iTunes Store files you accidentally lost or deleted.
You can also check for purchases that haven’t been downloaded to your computer, or have Apple Music check for them automatically. This is useful, for example, if a download is interrupted.
Note: Some types of previously purchased content might not be available in some countries or regions. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they’re no longer in the iTunes Store.
Download previous purchases to an authorized computer
Go to the Apple Music app on your Windows device.
Make sure you authorized your computer to play iTunes Store purchases. See the Apple Support article Authorize or deauthorize your computer for Apple Account purchases.
Select iTunes Store in the sidebar.
If you don’t see iTunes Store in the sidebar, select at the top of the sidebar, choose Settings, select General, select next to Show, then make sure iTunes Store is selected.
Select Purchased on the right side of the iTunes Store window.
Purchases available for download are displayed. You can view all of your past purchases or just the ones not currently in your music library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download.
You can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you view by album, select an album to see which songs are available to download.
To search for an item, type its name or a keyword in the search field, then press the Enter key.
To download an item, select .
To find out how to download previous purchases to your device, see the user guide for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. For a device that doesn’t use the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, get the user guide from the Apple Documentation website.
Set Apple Music to check for purchases automatically
Go to the Apple Music app on your Windows device.
Select at the top of the sidebar, choose Settings, then select General.
Turn on “Always check for available downloads.”
If you don’t see this option, either you’re not signed in to your Apple Account or you haven’t subscribed to Apple Music.
Tip: You can also download previously purchased music by selecting the Download button next to an item in your music library. If you don’t see next to previous purchases, select at the top of the sidebar, choose Settings, select General, then make sure “Sync library” is on.
