Add editing tools and extensions to Photos
You can add extensions (also called plugins) to provide new editing tools in Photos. For example, third-party extensions may provide specialized filters or other photo adjustments.
To edit using a third-party extension, download the extension from the App Store and install it on your Mac using the instructions provided with the extension. Then follow the steps below to enable the extension in Photos.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Extensions.
Click Photo Editing.
Select the checkbox of the extension that you want to use.
The extension now appears when you click the Extensions button in the editing toolbar in Photos.
You can use a combination of extensions and built-in Photos editing tools to change a photo. When you click the Extensions button in the editing toolbar and choose an extension, the extension or app opens with your photo active. Make your changes, save the photo, and close the extension or app window. In the Photos window showing your changes, click Save Changes, and you see the changed photos appear in the Photos Editing window. After editing a photo, you can restore it to the original by clicking Revert to Original.
