Use Smart Controls in Logic Remote on iPad
You use Smart Controls to control the sound of the selected track. You can also use Touch Instruments in Logic Remote to play software instruments in your GarageBand project in real time.
Smart Controls are shown in the upper part of the screen, with the Touch Instrument in the lower part.
The Smart Control shown depends on the type of Smart Control in the patch of the selected audio or software instrument track. Smart Controls typically include EQ or tone controls, reverb and other effects controls, and controls specific to the type of track or instrument. If the selected track doesn’t contain plug-ins, an empty layout is shown.
Each Smart Control has a set of screen controls. Adjusting a single screen control can change one or more parameters for the instrument or effect on the track. Screen controls are labeled to help you understand which aspect of the sound each one affects.
Open the Smart Controls and Touch Instrument for the selected track
Tap the View button in the control bar, then tap Smart Controls & [Touch Instrument].
The Touch Instrument is determined automatically by the type of Smart Control in the selected patch, but you can choose a different Touch Instrument.
You can automate the movements of screen controls, just as you can automate track and plug-in parameters. When you automate a screen control, the actual screen control movements, rather than underlying parameter values, are written.
