Apple TV Photos app at a glance
The Photos app lets you enjoy your pictures and videos on the big screen. You can use the following services to view the photos and videos from your iCloud account:
Memories: You can view all the memories created on your iOS or iPadOS device, or Mac. During playback, you can see all the photos and videos that make up each collection and skip to an individual photo or video. See View photo memories on Apple TV.
iCloud Photos and Shared Photo Library: iCloud Photos automatically stores your full-resolution photos and videos in iCloud. iCloud Shared Photo Library lets you share photos and videos seamlessly with up to five other people (separate setup is required on an iOS device, iPadOS device, or Mac). You can access iCloud Photos and Shared Photo Library from any device using the same Apple ID. You can’t edit photos and videos on Apple TV, but you can use the Photos app on other iOS and iPadOS devices and Mac computers to edit them and have those changes automatically update on Apple TV and all of your other devices. See View iCloud Photos and Shared Photo Library on Apple TV.
Shared Albums: You can view albums of photos and videos shared from another iOS or iPadOS device or Mac using Shared Albums, or view other people’s shared albums to which you’ve subscribed. See View shared photos and albums on Apple TV.
Apple TV Screen Saver: You can enjoy curated Memories or albums from your personal library, shared library, or both as a screen saver on Apple TV. See Create a photo screen saver on Apple TV.
Note: Photos shared using Home Sharing on your computer appear only in the Computers app , not in the Photos app . See View photos from your Mac on Apple TV.
