Intro to the iTunes Store in Music on Mac
The iTunes Store is the world’s number one music store, with millions of songs, albums, music videos, and more for purchase.
To visit the store, click iTunes Store in the sidebar. If it isn’t displayed there, choose Music > Settings, click General, make sure iTunes Store is selected, then click OK.
Music you buy or download from the iTunes Store is added instantly to your music library. You can also set up automatic downloading so that music you download from the store is downloaded to all your computers and devices, not just the one you used to get the music.
What you need
An Apple ID. See Use your Apple ID to sign in.
An internet connection (DSL, cable, or LAN) is recommended.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for in the iTunes Store, it might not be available. To submit a request to the iTunes Store, go to the iTunes Store Requests website.
Important: All sales are final. Your account is charged when you click a Buy button.
The iTunes Store may not be available in all countries or regions, and iTunes Store content may vary by country or region.
Usage rights for iTunes Store purchases
All songs offered by the iTunes Store come without Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection. These DRM-free songs, called iTunes Plus, have no usage restrictions and feature high-quality, 256 kbps AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) encoding.
If you previously purchased content from the iTunes Store that was protected by DRM, these protected purchases can be:
Played on up to five authorized computers
Synced with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
