Copy or move formulas and their computed values
You can copy or move cells that contain formulas, or cells that are referenced by formulas, from one location to another.
When you copy and paste or drag a cell referenced by a formula to a new location, the cell reference in the formula is automatically updated. For example, if a reference to A1 appears in a formula and you move A1 to D5, the cell reference in the formula becomes D5.
When you copy or move a cell containing a formula, you may need to change absolute and relative cell references.
Select a cell or several adjacent cells, then do one of the following:
Move cells to another location (like another table or page): Drag the selection where you want it.
If you drag to another table, values in the destination cells are replaced and values in the original location are removed. If you drag the selection to a blank area on the sheet, page, or slide, a new table is created.
Copy cells to another location (like another table or page): Hold down the Option key while you drag selected cells.
You can also tap or Control-click the selection, choose Copy, then tap or Control-click where you want to paste the cells and choose Paste.
Values in the destination cells are replaced and values in the original location are retained. If you copy the selection to a blank area on the sheet, page, or slide, a new table is created.
For specific instructions on how to accomplish tasks in Numbers, Pages, or Keynote, see the user guide for that app.
