Create a recording on Mac
With Voice Memos, you use your Mac as a recording device. To create a recording, use the built-in microphone, a supported headset, or an external mic. You can listen to your Voice Memos recordings on any Apple device where you’re signed in to the same Apple Account. See See your recordings on all your Apple devices.
Go to the Voice Memos app on your Mac.
Click to begin recording.
Click to pause recording; click to continue.
To save the recording, click Done.
Your recording is saved with the name of your location (if “Location-based Naming” is selected in settings and you allow Voice Memos access to the location of your Mac). Otherwise, your recording is saved with the name “New Recording.”
After a recording is saved, you can select it to play or make edits, such as renaming or trimming.
