Use Desk View on Mac
When using your iPhone as a webcam, you can use Desk View with FaceTime and other apps to show your face and an overhead view of your desk at the same time, with no complicated setup.
Note: Desk View is only available with iPhone 11 or later, excluding iPhone SE.
Use Desk View with FaceTime
On your Mac, open the FaceTime app
.Attach your iPhone to your Mac with a stand accessory, then use your iPhone as a webcam.
Start your video call, then click the Desk View button in the top-right corner of the video window.
Desk View opens, which mimics an overhead camera and shows a top-down view of your desk.
Use the Desk View setup window to align your desk with the camera. To zoom in or out, drag the onscreen control at the bottom of the window. When you’re ready to share your desk view on the video call, click Share Desk View.
To turn off Desk View, click the Screen Share button
in the top left of the Desk View window, then choose Close Window (or choose Desk View > Quit Desk View in the menu bar).
Use Desk View with other apps
On your Mac, open an app that captures video.
Attach your iPhone to your Mac with a stand accessory, then use your iPhone as a webcam.
Click the Video icon
in the menu bar, then click Desk View.Desk View opens, which mimics an overhead camera and shows a top-down view of your desk.
Tip: You can also open Desk View by searching for it in Spotlight.
Use the Desk View setup window to align your desk with the camera. To zoom in or out, drag the onscreen control at the bottom of the window. When you’re ready, click Start Desk View.
To share what’s on your desk in a third-party app, use the app’s screen sharing feature to select the Desk View window for sharing. To find out how, see the developer’s instructions or explore the app’s menus and settings.
To turn off Desk View, close the Desk View window or choose Desk View > Quit Desk View in the menu bar.
