Authorize your Mac to get purchases from the Book Store, Audiobook Store, or Audible website
If you purchase books or audiobooks on other devices from the Book Store or Audiobook Store in Apple Books, you can see those purchases on your Mac by authorizing your computer. You can authorize up to five computers and up to ten iOS devices and iPadOS devices to use with your Apple ID account.
You can also authorize your Mac to play audiobooks downloaded from the Audible website (audible.com).
Authorize your Mac
In the Books app on your Mac, choose Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer.
If you haven’t already, sign in using the same Apple ID you use on your other devices.
Your Mac is now authorized for the Book Store and Audiobook Store.
Deauthorize your Mac
Be sure to deauthorize your Mac before you sell it, give it away, send it in for service, or make major hardware upgrades.
In the Books app on your Mac, choose Account > Authorizations > Deauthorize This Computer.
To learn how to see your authorized computers, deauthorize a computer no longer in your possession, and more, see the Apple Support article Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases.
