Change Dock & Menu Bar preferences on Mac
On your Mac, use Dock & Menu Bar System Preferences to change the appearance of the Dock, and to select items to show in the menu bar and in Control Center.
To change these preferences, choose Apple menu

Dock & Menu Bar

Minimize windows into application icon | Minimize an app window to the app icon in the Dock. If the option is deselected, the window is minimized to an area in the Dock. | ||||||||||

Automatically hide and show the Dock | Hide the Dock when you’re not using it. To see the hidden Dock, move the pointer to the edge of the screen where the Dock is located. | ||||||||||

Show recent applications in Dock | Show recently opened apps (if they aren’t already included in the Dock) toward one end of the Dock. | ||||||||||
