Identify script file types in the Finder on Mac
AppleScript filenames have either the .scpt or .scptd extension. Extensions may be hidden so that only the filename is shown in the Finder, but you can show the extension.
In the Finder
on your Mac, select the file.Choose File > Get Info.
Click the Name & Extension disclosure triangle to see the extension.
