View your notes
You can view notes from all your notes accounts at any time.
Tip: To change the default size of all text in the note window, choose Notes > Preferences, then use the slider. Or, If you don’t want to change the default text size, but want to view an entire note larger or smaller, choose View > Zoom In or View > Zoom Out.
View the notes from a specific account: Select a folder in the account in the sidebar. If the sidebar isn’t showing, click the Sidebar button .
Notes from that account appear in the notes list.
View a note: Select a note in the notes list. The note’s contents appear on the right.
Tip: To quickly find a specific note, search your notes.
View a locked note: Select a locked note in the notes list, then enter your password for locked notes (or use Touch ID).
After you enter the password, all locked notes are unlocked, so you can easily view them without entering the password as long as you’re working in Notes. They’re locked again if you’re inactive for a period of time or you choose Notes > Close All Locked Notes.
However, if you reset the Notes password, entering the latest Notes password only unlocks notes that use the same password. If some of your notes use an earlier password, you must enter that password to view them.
Note: You can’t collaborate on a locked note.
For more information about locking notes, see Lock your notes with a password or Touch ID.
