Change or lock the screen orientation on iPod touch

Many apps give you a different view when you rotate iPod touch.

In the background, iPod touch displays a Calendar screen, showing one day’s events in portrait orientation; in the foreground, iPod touch is rotated to landscape orientation, which displays the Calendar events for the whole week containing the same day.

Lock or unlock the screen orientation

You can lock the screen orientation so that it doesn’t change when you rotate iPod touch.

Open Control Center, then tap .

When the screen orientation is locked, appears in the status bar.
