Turn on Live Captions in FaceTime on Mac
While you’re on a video call, you can turn on Live Captions to see the conversation transcribed on the screen. If you’re having difficulty hearing the conversation, Live Captions can make it easier to follow along. All audio is processed on your Mac.
Note: Live Captions is only available on Mac computers with Apple silicon, and is not available in all languages, countries, or regions. The accuracy of Live Captions may vary and should not be relied upon in high-risk or emergency situations. Live Captions uses additional power.
During a FaceTime video call, turn on Live Captions in the sidebar.
If you don’t see the sidebar, click at the bottom of the window.
If asked, click Download.
A language model for generating and displaying automatic captions is downloaded to your Mac.
