Use Presenter Overlay during video conferencing
With macOS Sonoma, you can use Presenter Overlay in FaceTime, so participants see you and the screen you’re sharing at the same time. The small overlay places your face in a movable bubble, so it’s easy to be seen while showcasing your work. The large overlay frames your shared screen next to you while you remain prominent, so you can walk, talk, and move in front of it.
You can also use Presenter Overlay with other videoconferencing apps, such as Zoom. Presenter Overlay appears in the Video menu while using compatible apps; if it doesn’t appear, it’s not available for that app. For more information on using Presenter Overlay with third-party apps, read the developer’s instructions or explore the app’s menus and settings.
Note: Virtual backgrounds are available in some third-party videoconferencing apps. When Presenter Overlay is turned on, virtual backgrounds aren’t displayed—your actual background shows instead.
Click the Video button in the menu bar.
Choose a Presenter Overlay size. When you’re sharing your screen, the overlay appears immediately.
Tip: While using Presenter Overlay, you can also turn on video effects such as Studio Light, Center Stage, or reactions.
To stop using Presenter Overlay, click the Video button in the menu bar, then click Off in the Presenter Overlay section
