Control your TV and volume with the Siri Remote
You can configure the Siri Remote to turn your TV or receiver on or off, change the input to your Apple TV, and even control the volume.
Use the Siri Remote to turn your TV or receiver on or off
Open Settings on Apple TV.
Go to Remotes and Devices and turn on Control TVs and Receivers.
Use the Siri Remote to control the volume of your TV, sound bar, or receiver
Open Settings on Apple TV.
Go to Remotes and Devices > Volume Control and choose from the following options.
Auto: Automatically pick the most compatible volume control.
HDMI: Use CEC to control volume. Choose this option if your TV or receiver supports HDMI-CEC.
TV via IR: Use IR to control volume on your TV. Choose this option if your TV or receiver uses an IR (infrared) remote.
Off: Disable volume control for devices other than Apple TV.
Learn New Device: Choose this option if the above options aren’t working. Follow the onscreen instructions to learn your device remote’s volume controls buttons on Apple TV.
