Connect iPad to a TV, projector, or monitor with a cable
With the appropriate cable or adapter, you can connect your iPad to a display, like a TV, projector, or computer monitor.
Connect iPad using the USB-C port
Plug a USB-C Display AV Adapter or USB-C VGA Multi-port Adapter into the charging port on the bottom of iPad.
Connect an HDMI or VGA cable to your adapter.
Connect the other end of your HDMI or VGA cable to your secondary display.
If necessary, switch to the correct video source on your secondary display. If you need help, use your display’s manual.
Connect iPad using the Lightning port
Plug a Lightning Digital AV Adapter or Lightning to VGA Adapter into the charging port on the bottom of iPad.
Connect an HDMI or VGA cable to your adapter.
Connect the other end of your HDMI or VGA cable to your secondary display (TV, monitor, or projector).
If necessary, switch to the correct video source on your secondary display. If you need help, use your display’s manual.
The adapters have an extra port so you can connect your charging cable and charge your iPad while connected to a secondary display.
