Change settings in Voice Memos on Mac
Use Voice Memos settings to change options for deleted recordings, audio quality, and naming.
In the Voice Memos app on your Mac, choose Voice Memos > Settings.

Clear Deleted | Choose how long to keep recordings in the Recently Deleted folder. For example, if you choose After 7 Days, your recordings are available in the folder for 7 days. After that, Voice Memos removes them. See Delete a recording. | ||||||||||
Audio Quality | Choose either Compressed (for lower-quality, smaller files) or Lossless (for high-quality, larger files). | ||||||||||
Location-based Naming | Have recordings automatically named based on your location. See Control access to the location of your Mac. | ||||||||||
