Add places and notes to your Maps library on Mac
You can save places—such as a new place you want to try for lunch—to your library, so you can easily refer to them later. You can also add notes—visible only to you—to saved places.
Save a place
Go to the Maps app on your Mac.
Click the location you want to save on the map, then click in the place card.
To see your saved places, click below Library in the sidebar, then click Places.
Add notes about a place
You can read the notes you add to a place at any time. If you share the place, your notes aren’t visible to others.
Go to the Maps app on your Mac.
Click a place on the map, in the sidebar, or in your library.
In the place card, click , then click “Add a note.”
Write something, then click Done.
If it’s not already saved, adding a note about a place saves the place to your library.
Get directions to a place
Go to the Maps app on your Mac.
Click the location you want to go to on the map, then click Directions in the place card.
If your current location is showing, Maps uses it as your starting location, but you can enter a different one.
Rename a saved place
If you save a place by pinning it, you can rename it.
Go to the Maps app on your Mac.
Below Library in the sidebar, hold your pointer over the saved place, then click .
Click in the name field, delete the previous name, then type a new name.
To assign the saved place to your home, work, or school, see Make a pin your home, work, or school address.
Remove a saved place
Go to the Maps app on your Mac.
Click below Library in the sidebar, then click Places.
Click next to the saved place you want to remove, then choose Delete from Library.
