Change or turn off Find My notifications on Mac
On your Mac, control the types of notifications you receive from Find My or turn them off altogether.
Change or turn off a separation alert for a device or item
You can set separation alerts for devices or items so you don’t accidentally leave them behind.
Go to the Find My app on your Mac.
Click Devices or Items.
Select a device or item, then click on the map.
Below Notifications, click Notify When Left Behind (or Notify When Detached), then do one of the following:
Change the notification: Click New Location or click next to the location you want to remove, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Turn off the notification: At the top, turn off Notify When Left Behind (or Notify When Detached), then click Done.
Change or turn off a location notification for a person
You can ask to get notified if your friend’s location changes, or your friend can choose to notify you.
Note: On Mac, you can only change or turn off a location notification you created.
Go to the Find My app on your Mac.
Click People, then select a friend’s name or Me.
Click on the map.
Below Notifications or Notifications About You, select the notification, then do one of the following.
Change the details: Change any details, then click Done.
Turn off the notification: Click Delete, then click Delete Notification.
If you want to turn off a notification created by a friend, you can stop sharing your location or turn it off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Change or turn off all notifications from Find My
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
Click Find My in the list, then do one of the following:
Change notifications: Set options, such as the style of notifications or where to show them. For more information about the options, click .
Turn off all notifications from Find My: Turn off “Allow notifications.”
To display notifications from Find My when a Focus is on, you must allow the notifications to appear. See Set up a Focus.
Note: Location sharing and finding people, devices, and items aren’t available in all countries or regions.
