Manage Apple TV storage
Your Apple TV streams video and music, but it stores apps locally. The more apps you download to Apple TV, the more storage is used up. At some point, you may get a warning that you’re running out of disk space. If so, you can remove apps to free up space.
Remove unused apps on the Home Screen
You can set Apple TV to remove unused apps to save space. Removing apps preserves your documents and data in case you download an app again later.
Open Settings on Apple TV.
Go to Apps and turn on Offload Unused Apps.
Reinstall unused apps on the Home Screen
Manually delete apps to recover space
Open Settings on Apple TV.
Go to General > Manage Storage.
Navigate to the Bin icon for any item in the list and press the clickpad centre (Siri Remote 2nd generation or later) or the touch surface (Siri Remote 1st generation).
The app and all its data are removed from the device.
You can also delete apps directly on the Home Screen. See Customise the Apple TV Home Screen.
If you delete an app, you can download it again from the App Store without repurchasing it. For more about the App Store, see Find apps in the Apple TV App Store.
Check the Apple TV storage levels
Open Settings on Apple TV.
Go to General > Manage Storage.
A list of the apps on your Apple TV shows how much space each item is using.
