Create an Apple ID
An Apple ID gives you access to the iTunes Store, the App Store and Apple Books, and iCloud, FaceTime and other Apple services. It consists of an email address (for example, emilyparker@icloud.com) and a password. Apple recommends you use the same Apple ID for all Apple services. You can create an Apple ID on a Mac, an iOS device, or at the Apple ID account website. See the Apple Support article Sign in with your Apple ID.
Create an Apple ID using your current email address
You can create an Apple ID using your current email address.
In the Safari app
on your Mac, go to the Apple ID account website.Click “Create your Apple ID”, then follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: In some locations, you can use a phone number instead of an email address as your Apple ID. See the Apple Support article Use your mobile phone number as your Apple ID.
Create an Apple ID using an iCloud address generated for you
You can create an Apple ID using a new @icloud email address that’s generated for you.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
> System Preferences, then click iCloud. Open iCloud preferences for me
Note: If you’re already signed in using an Apple ID, you must sign out before you can create a new Apple ID this way.
When a dialogue appears asking you to sign in to iCloud, click “Create Apple ID”, then follow the onscreen instructions.
To keep your purchases and access to Apple services secure, don’t share your Apple ID and password with others. To share your purchases with family members, you can set up a Family Sharing group with up to six members of your family. See Set up Family Sharing.
