What’s new in Music on Mac?
The Music app in macOS Monterey includes several new features, including SharePlay and AirPlay to Mac.
Have a music party with your friends right in your FaceTime calls with SharePlay. You can listen to songs together and build a Playing Next queue, and everyone can pause, rearrange, or skip tracks. See Listen to music together using SharePlay.
Play music on your Mac from an iPhone, iPad, or even another computer with AirPlay to Mac. See Choose which speakers to use.
Prevent access to items in Apple Music with Screen Time and Family Sharing. See Restrict access to items.
Other recently added features for Apple Music subscribers let you do the following:
Experience the highest standards of audio quality and listen to Apple Music using lossless audio. See Listen to lossless audio.
Listen to spatial audio in Dolby Atmos, which creates an immersive, three-dimensional audio experience on stereo headphones or built-in speakers. See Listen to spatial audio in Dolby Atmos.
If you’re not sure what to play next, use Autoplay. After you play a song, Autoplay adds similar songs and plays them at the end of the Playing Next queue. See Use the Playing Next queue.
