Join AppleSeed for IT to test essential services
Apple has developed a programme for enterprise and education customers who want to test all pre-release changes in the mobile device management (MDM) settings for their organisation. These changes are to Apple software, pre-installed apps and their organisation’s deployment-related apps. The testing targets Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, Apple TV and Apple Watch) and pre-installed apps such as Mail and Calendar. With this program, AppleSeed for IT, your professionals and technology managers evaluate the latest prerelease software versions in their unique work environments and offer feedback directly to Apple engineering teams. Your team also takes part in a dedicated bug submission process, detailed testing plans and forums with other participants.
When you give Apple feedback, you ensure that the new software works in your organisation. You also give your users confidence that the technology will support them as soon as it’s released.
Features
Apple leads the industry in delivering operating system updates to provide new enhancements and features to users as well as to address emerging security concerns. Updates are provided for all supported devices simultaneously. With AppleSeed for IT, your IT department tests beta software readiness for your organisation before the software is released to users. As a result of your feedback — on feature quality, usability, integration and operation of features in your environment — Apple identifies issues, fixes them and makes the final software release even better.
Access
Customers with Apple School Manager and Apple Business Manager are eligible to participate in AppleSeed for IT. Each participant must have a Managed Apple Account provided by their organisation and an email associated with their Managed Apple Account. Managed Apple Accounts with the role of student can’t participate.
Combine with other beta programs
AppleSeed for IT provides access to pre-release software versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS and other specific Apple apps. Work with your MDM vendor and other IT partners to join their beta programs and ensure their products support the latest features. Test business critical apps, network connectivity, security settings, deployment workflows and other essential services.
