Manage device suppliers in Apple School Manager
You can have your devices added to Apple School Manager at the time of purchase. To do so, you must:
Share your Organisation ID.
Enter the Reseller Number for the Apple Authorised Reseller or the authorised mobile network provider you purchase from.
Enter an Apple Customer Number if you are purchasing from Apple.
There are two ways you can add Reseller Numbers and Apple Customer Numbers:
the first time you select Devices in the sidebar
In Preferences > MDM Server Assignment
Your Organisation ID
An Organisation ID is your unique identifier in Apple School Manager. When you give a participating Apple Authorised Reseller or an authorised mobile network provider your Organisation ID (and you add that reseller’s Reseller Number to your account profile), you authorise that reseller to submit devices you purchased through them to Apple so their serial numbers appear in Apple School Manager. The Organisation ID can also be used with app developers so they can distribute Custom Apps specific to your organisation.
Reseller Numbers
A Reseller Number is a unique identifier for each Apple Authorised Reseller or authorised mobile network provider who participates in Apple School Manager. When you add a participating Apple Authorised Reseller’s, or carrier’s Reseller Number to your account profile (and you give that reseller your Organisation ID), you authorise that reseller or carrier to submit devices you purchased through them to Apple so their serial numbers appear in Apple School Manager.
If you do not know the Reseller Number of your participating Apple Authorised Reseller or your authorised cellular carrier, contact them for assistance.
After the Organisation ID and Reseller Numbers are exchanged and verified, you can arrange with your participating Apple Authorised Reseller or your authorised mobile network provider to have them submit your orders through their portal to Apple (it will not happen automatically).
Apple Customer Numbers
The Apple Customer Number is the account number (or numbers) assigned to your organisation by Apple, used to purchase Apple hardware or software. If you do not know the numbers, contact your purchasing agent, finance department or Apple account team. This number is not the same as your GSX account number.
