FaceTime app at a glance
Use the FaceTime app on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) to connect face to face with anyone while taking advantage of your TV’s larger screen. FaceTime uses Continuity Camera to connect wirelessly with an iPhone or iPad so that you can use that device’s camera and microphone while making calls directly from Apple TV, or when handing off calls to your Apple TV from your iPhone or iPad.
In the FaceTime app, you can:
Connect your iPhone or iPad with Apple TV 4K. See Set up Continuity Camera on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later).
Make FaceTime calls directly from Apple TV 4K, answer incoming video or audio calls on Apple TV 4K, or hand off calls in progress from an iPhone or iPad. See Use FaceTime on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later).
Adjust FaceTime controls for Center Stage, turn on Split View, and use interactive gestures. See Use FaceTime on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later).
Watch and work out together with SharePlay. See Watch together using SharePlay on Apple TV.
Note: FaceTime requires an Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later) with tvOS 17.2 or later and either of the following: iPhone XR or later (including iPhone SE 2nd generation) with iOS 17; iPad (8th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later), or iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later) with iPadOS 17.2.
With a Continuity Camera connected to Apple TV 4K (3rd generation), you can also see yourself onscreen and add entertaining filters when singing along to your favorite tracks in the Music app with Apple Music Sing. See Sing along with Apple Music on Apple TV.
