Interact with text in a picture in Safari on Mac

In the Safari app on your Mac, go to a photo or image that shows text.

The text can be words, a phone number, an email address, a website address or a street address.

Move the pointer over the text, then drag to select it.

Control-click the selected text.

Do one of the following:

• Copy: Choose Copy. You can then paste the text into another document or app.

• Get a definition: Choose Look Up.

• Translate: Choose Translate [text], then choose a language.

  Note: Translation isn’t available in all languages and may not be available in some countries or regions.

• Search the web: Choose Search with [web search engine].

• Share with others: Choose Share, then choose how you want to share the text.

• Call or send a message: Choose to call the phone number, start a FaceTime video or audio call, or send a message to the number.

  You can also click the down arrow that appears when you move the pointer over the phone number.

• Send email: Choose to write an email, add the email address to Contacts or start a FaceTime video or audio call.

  You can also click the down arrow that appears when you move the pointer over the email address.

• Go to the website: Open the link in your browser or use Quick Look to view the website information.

  You can also click the down arrow that appears when you move the pointer over the website address.

• See a map: Open the Maps app and show the street address.

  You can also click the down arrow that appears when you move the pointer over the street address.
