Why notes are hidden on some devices
If a note contains tags, mentions or links to other notes, it may be hidden on some devices for you and anyone the note is shared with.
If an iCloud note contains a tag, mention, or a link that automatically updates to show the linked note’s title (indicated by a note icon 
), it can only be viewed on a device with iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5 or macOS 11.3, or later. To make these notes available on Apple devices with earlier versions, you can delete the tag, mention or note link.
When you first add a tag, a mention or a link that automatically updates to show the linked note’s title, an alert tells you if you need to upgrade any of your devices to be able to view the note. To upgrade your devices, see any of the following Apple Support articles:
