Save or download episodes in Podcasts on Mac
You can save podcast episodes to your library so you can find them more easily later. You can also download episodes to store them on your Mac and listen to them even when you don’t have an internet connection.
Save an episode to your library
Go to the Podcasts app on your Mac.
Search to find podcasts, or click a category in the sidebar.
Hold the pointer over an episode, then do one of the following:
Click .
Click , then choose Save Episode.
Saved episodes are automatically downloaded by default. To change this setting, choose Podcasts > Settings, click General, then deselect Download When Saving.
Download an episode
Go to the Podcasts app on your Mac.
Search to find podcasts, or click a category in the sidebar.
Hold the pointer over an episode, then do one of the following:
Click .
Click , then choose Download Episode.
Turn automatic downloads on or off for all the shows you follow
You can choose to automatically download new episodes for shows you follow, so they’re ready for you whenever you have time to listen.
Go to the Podcasts app on your Mac.
Choose Podcasts > Settings, then click General.
Click the Automatically Download pop-up menu, then turn off automatic downloads or choose how many downloaded episodes to keep.
Turn automatic downloads off or on for a specific show
Go to the Podcasts app on your Mac.
Click Shows in the sidebar, then select a show.
Do one of the following:
Turn off automatic downloads: Click , then choose Turn Off Automatic Downloads.
Turn on automatic downloads: Click , then choose Turn On Automatic Downloads.
