Set up your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch
To set up Find My on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch, sign in to your Apple Account on the device, turn on location sharing, and turn on Find My [device]. You need to set up Find My before the device is lost.
When you set up your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch, Activation Lock is turned on to help protect your device. You can use Find My to see the device’s location on a map, play a sound on the device, turn on Lost Mode, and even erase the device remotely.

Set up your AirPods or Beats headphones
If you pair your AirPods or Beats headphones with your iPhone or iPad, they show up in your Devices list in the Find My app. You can use Find My to locate or play a sound on them. If your AirPods support the Find My network, you can also mark them as lost.
Note: If you pair your AirPods or Beats headphones when your iPhone or iPad is not connected to a data network (such as 3G, 4G, LTE, or Wi-Fi), you may not have access to all the Find My features.

For setup instructions, see Add your iPhone Wallet with MagSafe to Find My on iPhone in the iPhone User Guide.
Set up your AirTag or third-party item
When you register an AirTag or third-party item to your Apple Account, you can see its location on a map, play a sound on it (if applicable), and mark it as lost. You can use your iPhone or iPad to register an item.

Set up a family member’s device
If you’re part of a Family Sharing group, you can use Find My to help find and protect any family member’s device. Their devices appear below yours in the Devices list in Find My.
Each family member must set up their devices to share their locations with other family members. See the Apple Support article Share your location with your family.
You can’t add friends’ devices to your Devices list. Friends who lose a device can go to icloud.com/find and sign in to their Apple Account.
