Share photos, a calendar, and more with family members on iPod touch
With Family Sharing on iPod touch, you can share a family photo album, a family calendar, reminders, and your location.
Share photos or videos with family members
When you set up Family Sharing, a shared album called Family is automatically created in the Photos app on all family members’ devices, which makes it easy to share family photos or videos.
Open the Photos app , then select a photo or video, or select multiple photos or videos.
Tap , then tap Shared Albums.
Add any comments you want, then tap Shared Album.
Choose an album to add the photo or video to.
Members can unsubscribe from the family album, and the family organizer can delete it or remove subscribers. See Share photos from iPod touch with Shared Albums in iCloud.
Add an event to the family calendar
When you set up Family Sharing, a shared calendar called Family is automatically created in the Calendar app on all family members’ devices. You can schedule an event on this calendar to share it with family members.
Open the Calendar app , then add an event.
While entering the event details, tap Calendar, then tap Family to add the event to the family calendar.
Members can unsubscribe from the family calendar, and the family organizer can delete it. See Share iCloud calendars on iPod touch.
Set up a family reminder
When you set up Family Sharing, a shared list is automatically created in the Reminders app on all family members’ devices. You can add a reminder to the Family list to share it with the family.
Open the Reminders app .
Tap the Family list, then tap to add a reminder to the list.
Members can unsubscribe from the family reminder list, and the family organizer can delete it, by tapping the list in the Reminders app, tapping Edit, then tapping Delete List.
Share your location with family members
With Family Sharing, you can share your location with members of your family group. When your family organizer sets up Location Sharing in Family Sharing settings, the organizer’s location is automatically shared with everyone in the family. Then family members can choose whether or not to share their location.
When you share your location, your family members can see your location in Find My Friends and Messages and, if your device is lost, they can help you locate it with Find My iPhone.
Note: To share your location, you must have Location Services turned on in Settings > Privacy.
Go to Settings > [your name] > Share My Location.
Turn on Share My Location.
Tap From, select the device you want to share your location from, then tap .
Tap the family member you want to share your location with, then tap Share My Location.
Your family member receives a message that you’re sharing your location and can choose to share their location with you.
You can also send or share your location while using the Messages app (iOS 8 or later) by tapping the profile picture or name at the top of the conversation, tapping , then tapping Share My Location.
To stop sharing your location with a family member, go to Settings > [your name] > Share My Location. Tap the family member, then tap Stop Sharing My Location.
To find a family member’s location, use the Find My Friends app .
