Delete books or audiobooks from your Mac in Books
When you remove or delete a book, audiobook, or PDF from your library, it’s no longer stored on your Mac.
In the Books app
on your Mac, click All (or another collection) in the sidebar.Click the item you want to delete or remove. If the item is part of a series, first open the series, then click it.

, click Remove, then choose an option. Options may include:Remove from Reading Now: Remove the item from the Reading Now collection.
Remove Download: If you’re signed in with your Apple ID, you can remove downloads from your library on Mac. The book, audiobook, or PDF may still be visible.
Hide Book: If you’re signed in with your Apple ID, you can hide the item so it never appears in your library on any device. See Hide and unhide purchased books and audiobooks.
Delete: If you’re not signed in with your Apple ID, you can delete downloads from your library on Mac. The book, audiobook, or PDF is no longer visible.
Items you purchased from the Book Store or Audiobook Store are still in iCloud, even if you remove them from your Mac. Purchased books appear in your library with an iCloud status icon 
. You can download purchased books and audiobooks again.
