Retired from New York law practice in 1956; moved to Richmond, Virginia.

General manager and executive director of the Richmond - Petersburg Turnpike Authority, 1956-1970; retired in 1970.

At one time, was president of the American Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association.
