A religious wedding ceremony
Churchly weddings or other religious ceremonies can also be arranged, but not through the registry office. In these cases, those wishing to marry should be able to contact the representatives of their religious community in their home country, establish contact with their colleagues in the Seychelles and be able to inform them about the necessary preparations. A religious ceremony of any kind is not officially recognised as a marriage without a previous civil marriage ceremony.

Roman Catholicism is the country's main religion, but churches such as Anglican and Church of England, as well as communities of Muslims, Hindus and Bahais are also represented.
To organise your religious wedding, you need to contact the relevant religious institution. However, according to Seychelles law, a religious wedding ceremony is only valid if a civil wedding has taken place beforehand. It is therefore obligatory to organise the civil wedding before the religious ceremony.
